Introducing: Far From There

Far From There is an alt-rock group that started in Boston in 2009. Their style aims to be as eclectic as possible, drawing heavily on influences from a number of genres, but hammering them home with an alt-rock sensibility and some careful orchestration. We’re currently signed to Square Sad Face, a Boston based label looking to foster creativity in the Boston music scene.

On Hiatus

Sadly, I have to announce that Far From There is on hiatus for a few years. Jeff has gone to California with an aching for grad school in his heart. We wish him all the best, and look forward to when he finishes up out there and comes back to Boston. Then we’ll get this show back on the road. We may try to play a show or two if he comes back to town, but there’s no guarantee on that.

We’ve put up a few more demos over there to the right. You should now be able to check out “Dream Sequence”, “Silhouette at Sunset”, and “Roses of Decision.”¬†We should have another demo, “Crackjaw” up at some point, to round it all out. Remember you can download all of our available demos from the widgets or at Soundcloud, so please do.

So keep us in the back of your mind and enjoy the demos. We’ll be back before you know it, and look forward to playing for you.

We’ve put up the first in a series of new demos to get our music out there. The demos are released under a Creative Commons BY-NC-SA 3.0 license. You can stream them from this site, or download them from the widget to the right to listen elsewhere.

Today we’re pleased to present our song “Constancy”.

We should have more demos up soon, so check back!

New Website

So we’ve finally launched the new site. It’s an exciting time for us as we move toward getting our name out there and actively booking gigs. We continue to write and rehearse, but you can bet that we’ll be playing out as soon as we can. Check back here regularly for news on our recent and upcoming shows, as well as behind the scenes photos and teasers of new songs.
